WELCOME BACK IN SEASON 2006
It would take very long to write abort what happened during the break between last year's technical rides attended almost only by narrow-gauge railroad lovers and today.
Today, with more financial capacity to renovate the Piaseczno - Tarczyn - Piaseczno tracks, we are looking at our tourist, museum and didactic services from a different angle. Such services are very much needed by people living in Warsaw and Piaseczno poviat who believe that protecting historic monuments is appreciated and incredibly significant to modern day culture.
The great number of e-mails and phone calls we have been receiving include questions about when our tours start which means that the funds we receive are used in a way perceived well by the public and fulfil the needs of tourists, narrow-gauge railroad lovers and everyone who loves nature and relics of the past.
This year we conducted very specialist and hard work of revisory repairs of our Px48 engine. Thanks to a group of colleague professionals from Gniezno and a specialist company from Piła - INTERLOK, our engine underwent a wheel lifting. Mr Janusz Sędzicki - the main and element of the engine - cured all the engine's body parts suffering after six years of use.
Tadeusz Warsza, together with our great technical staff have been doing miracles to improve our tracks. And???????
!!! Attention !!! ON 25 JUNE 2006 NARROW-GAUGE RAILROAD IN PIASECZNO WELCOMES TO OUR FIRST TOUR!!!
From that day, every Sunday there will be a tour on the Piaseczno - Tarczyn - Piaseczno route with a picnic. This year we are going to introduce a new activity during our picnic parties. For ladies and gentlemen, who like to be active, together with a group of people experienced in organising outdoor events, we are going to introduce paintball. This popular outdoor game will be an option during our Sunday tours. The small additional fee will also include proper outfit, guns and bullets. The game will be supervised by an instructor.

Everything you have read on this website so far can be still found below. We have decided not to remove it, so that people who visit this website for the first time can understand that the present state of the Piaseczno narrow-gauge railroad is a result of a complicated process and the railroad has its own history - not only the one hundred years of existence, but also more modern history of the last few years. Every day of our work creates history. For instance, a very elegant restaurant will be opened near an equally elegant Harley Davidson Club. This is the new face of the Piaseczno narrow-gauge railroad, which will develop towards a tourist, cultural and museum centre.

Welcome back after a long break!
In season 2005, Piaseczno Narrow-gauge Railroad unfortunately was not very busy mainly due to significant damage to the tracks done in the winter of 2004/05. Last year the Narrow-Gauge Railroad Association in Piaseczno replaced over 1300 sleepers on the tracks from Piaseczno to Tarczyn. However, this large amount did not prove sufficient and we could not hit the tour track with a sufficient level of passenger safety.
Almost all summer and autumn this year we are spending on restoring the railway tracks, including passes, a bridge and an overbridge to make it possible in 2006 to travel safely with us.
To test the effects of this year's restoration works we run two technical trains on which the fans of narrow-gauge railroad from Piaseczno and the whole country could go. A complete success was achieved in terms of the weather, good mood and the effects of the restoration works.
During this year's break a few interesting changes took place and we have some important news.
Firstly, the Piaseczno Starosty (without changing the operator of the line which is the Narrow-Gauge Railroad Association in Piaseczno) signed an agreement of lease of the property of the Grójec Access Railroad with the Piaseczno Commune. The effects of this were to be soon noticed. The Piaseczno Commune in a short period of time bought 1000 sleepers and the necessary linking elements which later were given to the Association and used in the restoration works. We were also provided with help in the form of workers who helped with the works. You can read more about the details of the actions taken by the Piaseczno Commune on the commune's website. We have signed an agreement with the Minister of Culture and Art concerning financing the restoration of two passes, a bridge and an overbridge which will allow us to increase the safety during traveling on our tour trains. The restoration works are in process and according to the schedule they have to finish by 10 November this year. We are planning to make use of the Minister's help again after we have accounted for the above mentioned financial help.
This year a very nice group of go-devil drivers joined our Association. Like us, they are in love with the two parallel rails stretching over long distances. You can find out more about their acitivity from their website www.drezyniarze.pl
They have already organised two events at the station in Zalesie Dolne. Of course, the main attraction was their go-devil. The participants, especially those who only began to understand the go-devil drivers' enthusiasm, integrated with them incredibly fast, mainly with the help of children.
Another very important event was the entry of our Association into the National Court Register as a public benefit organization. We are very proud of this and we are counting on your help, especially when you fill in your PIT forms and you can deduct 1% from your income and assign it to the account of one of public benefit organizations.
On the verge of 2004 and 2005 we made contact with a German company - HSB located in the town of Wernigerode. The company manages objects similar to ours. Unfortunately the similarity is only two-dimensional:
- The clearance between the two rails their narrow-gauge railway tracks is 1000mm,
- The length of their tracks is similar to ours. We are a dozen concepts and designs behind when it comes to all the other data.
The company possesses 25 steam engines and a relevant number of open cars. They employ 230 people and their tourist organization is beyond our reach. We want to learn from them more than we can in one year. You can learn more about the company and the town at www.hsb-wr.de
It's been very nice, throughout the whole break this year, to receive enormous amounts of phone calls asking about when we would actually start again. We would like to thank you for the interest in our activity and with the force of saturated vapour we thank you cordially. Our Px48 engine also has to go through general overhaul. It will become a youngster again and it will gain new energy to satisfy our passengers aged from 5 to 105.
