| ABOUT US
The history of a narrow-gauge railroad in Piaseczno, also called the Grójec Access Railroad, begun in 1898. Hundred years later the Narrow-Gauge Railroad Association in Piaseczno was founded, although it was originally called The Grójec Narrow-Gauge Railroad Restoration Society.
The main purpose of assembling the Society's founding committee was due to continuous degradation of typical narrow gauge railroad estates and technology, which only equivalent in Poland was a railroad in Grójec. Only two narrow-gauge engines remained, which used 1000 millimeter rail span.
For couple of years of our activity, firstly within the confines of cooperation with the Head Office of Access Railway PKP S.A. and later with Piaseczno we took a tremendous effort in repairing not only the rolling stock but also a complex of buildings in which the machine shop, together with offices and the railroad station, were situated.
Many of the machines from the technical base were preserved. They form now one of the most unique examples of the now past railroad technology.
Today we administer not only with our rolling stock but also with the one granted to us by a local government of Piaseczno.
Px48-3917 type locomotive, together with wernigerode type car (exact reproduction), freight car, diesel trolley and a couple of auxiliary wagons makes our property. Recently we bought from PKP S.A. few original chassis's which will be used to construct another reconstructions of cars that used to travel on our rail route. We are very close in implementing a project of renovating a Szczecin-Vulcan Tyn6 type locomotive, which is currently being kept in the railroad museum in Gryfice. This locomotive was a common guest on our rail route too.
The rolling stock that was given to us by local government of Piaseczno consists of six cars manufactured in Romania and two Ldx2 454 and 456 engines, also of Romanian origin. We put them into service right after we took them over.
On the 30th of April 2004 we received from Professor Janusz Dyduch, president of the Railroad Transportation Department, license nr WPO/068/2004 that allowed us to transport passengers and goods by menas of our railroad. On the very same day we received a similar license from Żnińsk Local Railroad.
We immediately resumed transporting the tourists, which was temporarily on hold for the time of handing over the railroad from the PKP S.A. to the local government.
